Co-founder & CEO
Now a veteran of New Zealand's medicinal cannabis industry, Mark’s background is media—radio, television and print. Until the end of 2017, he co-hosted the afternoon show on Newstalk ZB, New Zealand’s Number 1 radio station. He is also a television presenter for New Zealand’s largest TV network – TVNZ, and often writes for some of New Zealand’s largest publications. Mark also has vast experience in business, having run a successful import and distribution company in New Zealand since 2011, among others.
Co-founder & COO
Will oversees the operations of all NUBU's functions, working with our various partners and regulators to deliver our growing range of consumer products, medicinal cannabis products and medical devices to customers.
He has an extensive background in advertising and marketing, where he worked with local and global companies to develop their business strategies. This knowledge is now applied to NUBU to ultimately drive business growth.
From her years of experience as Global Brand Manager for New Zealand-based FMCG brand, Ecostore, Amanda has extensive understanding, as well as a strong passion, for the development of New Zealand brands both locally and on a global scale. Her background is in marketing and design but Amanda’s previous roles have focused on Category Management, New Product Development & Launch as well as Research and Development. She has worked in all facets of product development;
manufacturing, trade and the development of products and ranges for specific markets and channels.
Operations and Innovation Executive
Nick is a Chemical Engineer – recently graduating from the University of Canterbury (with honours). His background is in process development, which has proved incredibly valuable during his time at NUBU. Nick is passionate about cannabis, and is excited about developing alternative treatment options for a variety of different medical conditions including Crohn’s disease, which he has battled since age 15. Nick brings logical thinking, innovative ideas and an immense amount of drive and enthusiasm to the team.
Kady has 10 years’ experience in Medical Affairs and has worked for top 10 pharmaceutical companies like Merck Sharpe&Dohme and Seqirus. Her background includes pre and post-launch medical activities, Compliance, Quality Assurance, Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance and Regulatory Affairs.
Her journey in the medicinal cannabis industry started in 2019 with Canopy Growth, leading her to train in Canada and work in international markets.
Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Hons) from Auckland University and she is also a published author.
Head Of Supply & Innovation
Claudia has been involved in the global cannabis industry for over two years at Aurora Cannabis, one of the worlds largest cannabis producers. Claudia worked sales operation and inventory management, working with internal and external stakeholders while capturing all needs and aspects of the supply chain. She brings to NUBU a deep understanding of both recreational and medical markets. Previous to her experience in cannabis Claudia worked in warehousing and distribution for some of New Zealand's top clothing companies including Augustine & Kate Sylvester.
Scott was most recently CEO and founder of Plexure (NZX:PLX), a mobile engagement technology company used by more than 85 million customers in more than 30 countries around the world for clients like McDonalds, IKEA and 7-Eleven. Plexure has won numerous global awards, including the 2nd Fastest Growing Company in the 2016 Deloitte Fast 50. Scott was also co-founder of Utilyx, a UK- based energy and carbon trading company that was sold in 2012 to Mitie. Prior to this, Scott worked in a number of strategic consulting roles in markets such as the UK, Europe, USA, Australia and Japan, servicing a range of clients including Toyota, GM, IBM, Citibank and McDonalds. Scott holds a M.Comm (Hons) from the University of Auckland.
